Workshops

These workshops blend therapeutic art making, artistic skill building, and meditation to explore our own creativity in community with others. 

These workshops have been enjoyed and beneficial in variety of settings and different demographics including women of domestic violence, ceremonial psychedelic integration, wedding activities, "break the ice" social gatherings, corporate settings, youth groups, and more.

Natural Dye

Looking out into the world, we see a plethora of colors! Many colors used for dying can be found in nature.

Join us at Femme Fatale DC to explore the organic pigments found in nature. In this 2 hour, family friendly workshop, we will learn where natural dyes come from, how to extract pigments, ethical harvesting practices, and the process to create a dyed silk scarf using natural pigments.

All materials are provided for in this workshop including the pre-treated silk scarf, organic dying pigments, and hands on instruction.

Yoga Figure Drawing

In this unique workshop you will learn skillful figure drawing techniques and practice a combination of Vinyasa and Hatha yoga poses. The aim of this workshop is for individuals to experience empowered embodiment and learn how to draw the human form with love and accuracy.

Through this blended art & yoga practice you will gain a deeper understanding of the body, the study of anatomy, and tools for inner and artistic observation.

Please bring your own sketchbook, drawing pencils, and a yoga mat to this workshop.

Facilitators:

 

Erin Win has a background in classical ballet that naturally led her to yoga. She obtained her vinyasa certification in 2009 and taught for several years in New York and London. Her understanding of yoga continued to deepen as she lived in India for one year and received teachings under the Himalayan Iyengar Yoga Centre and the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram. Erin is also a certified osteopath from the UK. Her classes combine both her knowledge of the human body and the yoga practice. For more information visit erinwen.com


Madeline Lynch is an artist, therapeutic arts facilitator, and massage therapist. She is passionate about blending art and spiritual meditation practices as an avenue for healing, empowerment, and transformation. Madeline studied Studio Art and Philosophy at American University where she received her BA in these subjects. Later on she completed her Masters in Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. Madeline has exhibited her artwork in New York, Washington D.C., Costa Rica, and Colombia.
